Professional Engineers (P.Eng)

Receive an International Designation to compliment your P. Eng designation!

The Institution of Fire Engineers in the UK is licensed by the Engineering Council to examine and register qualified individuals as Chartered Engineers, Incorporated Engineers and Engineering Technicians.  In Canada, the provincial bodies representing professional engineers are responsible for the review and awarding of the Professional Engineering (P. Eng) designation.
The Institution of Fire Engineers, Canada Branch has recognized that there are some limitations on Professional Engineers being recognized as specialists in Fire Protection.  Engineers working on Fire and Life Safety Systems in some provinces are grouped under the Mechanical category with little to distinguish themselves as specialists.  Applying for an Associate or Member Grade to add the specialty designation to your title can show your commitment to Fire Engineering.
IFE Canada Branch draws on the experience of the UK Office to strengthen the recognition of Professional Engineers who work specifically in the Fire Protection Engineering field.  By recognizing the P.Eng designation and the experience in the field of Fire Engineering, the IFE is able to award the AIFireE and MIFireE designations to applicants that apply with the P.Eng designation and relevant experience.

Your fire protection engineering and life safety specialization deserves to be recognized.
