Can I apply to sit any of the examinations or do I have to start with the Preliminary examination?

Candidates can apply to sit any examination at any level. However, they should take care not to apply for examinations that are scheduled to take place at the same time.

What happens after I have applied to sit an examination?

Written acknowledgements will be sent to all candidates following the receipt of their application form and payment of the examination fees.

Results letters will be posted to all candidates at the end of May. Successful candidates will receive pass certificates with their results letters. Results will not be given out over the telephone or by fax or email. The examination pass list will be published on this website in July.

Please note:

Candidates who owe the Institution arrears with respect to the examination fee and/or annual subscription fee will not have their results released until payment has been received.

When will I receive confirmation of the examination(s) I am taking and the examination centre itself?

Confirmation letters, including information on the allocated examination centre and general instructions to candidates, will be posted to all candidates by 31 January.
